Namco's 1989 title Valkyrie no Densetsu ( Legend of Valkyrie ) is a top-down adventure game. Players assume the role of a warrior maiden who can fire projectiles from her sword and jump. The gameplay bears some similarity to that of Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda.
